Biographical Facts

In 1961, Vyacheslav Nikolaevich graduated from the Moscow Art School in memory of 1905. In 1967, he completed his studies at the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V. I. Surikov, training in the workshop of V. G. Tsyplakov and P. D. Pokarzhevsky. From 1968 to 1970, he continued his education as an assistant under V. G. Tsyplakov.

Since 1968, he became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and actively engaged in artistic activities. From 1971 to 2001, he taught at his alma mater, becoming a professor of the Department of Painting and Composition in 1991.

Public Activities

Since 1977, Vyacheslav Nikolaevich led the Commission for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments under the Union of Artists of the RSFSR. From 1997 to 2000, he served as chairman of the Moscow Union of Artists.

Creative Work

Since 1966, Zabelin actively participated in exhibitions at various levels—Moscow, republican, all-Russian, and international. His works are created in the style of Russian impressionism, characterized by delicate color harmony and attention to light effects.

In 2002, a memorial hall dedicated to V. N. Zabelin was opened in the Rostov Veliky Art Museum. Exhibitions and commemorative evenings dedicated to the artist's work are held there.
